You are being invited to help beta test a toolkit of questions, called the CoachINSIGHT Toolkit (CIT), designed to assess perceived coaching effectiveness. Broadly speaking, the CIT has two purposes.
First, it is a sort of multi-rater assessment of the quality and perceived effectiveness of your coaching, as rated by your coachees. Your coachees will have the opportunity to answer a few questions about their coaching relationship with you, as well as the degree to which they believe they have achieved their coaching objectives. You will also be asked a few questions about the behaviors or techniques you typically use in coaching, as well as the degree to which your coachees typically achieve various coaching objectives. The purpose of these questions is to give you better insight into some of your coaching relationships. To that end, the CIT research team will use the responses you provide to generate a personalized feedback report for you (you can see a sample feedback report HERE). Please note that in order to generate the report, we need ONE response from you and a response from at least FIVE of your coachees (this is to ensure the anonymity of their responses).
Second, it is part of a research initiative intended to empirically establish the links between key coaching variables that operate beyond specific coaching models or theories. Accordingly, the CIT will ask some questions that will not be included in the personalized feedback report on variables such as psychological mindedness and motivation for coaching. Because there are no norms associated with these measures, we cannot provide meaningful analyses of these data until all data collection is finished. We will of course provide you with a summary report of these findings when data collection is finished.
